WaqarWeb ("we", "us") provides free UK VAT calculators and guides at waqarweb.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and your rights over it. We collect as little personal data as possible.
Who we are
WaqarWeb is run by Waqar, based in the United Kingdom. We handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Our calculators
All WaqarWeb calculators run entirely in your browser. The amounts you type are not sent to our servers and are not stored by us. If you use a "Copy" button, the result is copied to your own device only.
Information we collect
- Contact form messages. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply to you.
- Usage analytics. We use analytics to understand which pages and calculators are used, so we can improve them. See our Cookie Policy for details and your choices.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
Former accounts and website scans
Until September 2026, WaqarWeb offered user accounts and a website SEO checker. These features have been discontinued. If you had an account or ran scans, that data is stored securely and is not used for anything else. You can ask us to delete it at any time using the contact form.
Why we process your data
- To reply to messages you send us (legitimate interests).
- To keep the site secure and working (legitimate interests).
- To measure how the site is used, where you have agreed to analytics (consent).
How long we keep data
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your query. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form.
Third-party services
We use trusted providers to run WaqarWeb, including our web hosting provider, Google Fonts (which delivers the typefaces the site uses) and our analytics providers. These providers process only the data needed to provide their service.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict processing, and to receive a copy. To use any of these rights, contact us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Children
WaqarWeb is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes, and will change the date at the top when we do.
